The trail opens at Saltgate
Sixteen huts are staffed along the Long Way, from Fergus at Saltgate to Marcel at the last marker above Endhaven, and the Stage Book holds a note for every stage. Pick a stage, he greets you at his door, and he remembers how the walk went.
Signing the register costs nothing. New walkers get 3 days with every hut open; after that comes Free, with 10 messages a day, and Plus for anyone who would rather not count.
Every hut-keeper's page opens on his portrait, and the home page shows him in a wide banner on his stretch of trail. When anything else arrives, it will be noted here first.
