The Bothy Door

A bothy door is never locked, but what is said by the stove stays by the stove. Your chats are treated the same way.

What we keep

  • Your account: email, password (stored only as a hash), first name, birth date, gender, and anything you pack into your rucksack.
  • Your chats and his jottings on you, which is how he remembers.
  • A session cookie, plus one more that remembers you signed the adults-only board at the trailhead.
  • For each fee, its amount and the reference of the transfer. The honesty box is coins only; card numbers have no way in.
  • Routine server logs, held briefly for security.

What we use it for

We use it to keep the chat running, to hold to the hut rules and to keep the site standing. The men's replies come from an AI model on hardware we control, or from a contractor held to this single use, and automated checks look over the messages for safety. No one can buy your chats, and no advertiser ever reads them.

Counting walkers

A plain analytics counter shows us visitor numbers and where they arrived from. Your chats are outside its reach.

Your controls

From any chat's menu you can edit his jottings on you, save a copy or clear the walk. To erase your account entirely, send a note from its email address to the mailbox in the footer. If the place you live gives you rights beyond these, write and name them, and we will act on them.
